Daily Prompt: Waiting

I was waiting for you and even as the sun went down.

I continued to wait for you even as it became dark and cold I waited.

All bundled up with a cup of hot chocolate near by just in case it got too cold.

As my hope of you showing up started to dim out like the street light above me.

A shadow starts to move towards me in a hurry and I’m relieved as you step into the light.

All out of breath from running from the train station to meet me.

You said you’re sorry but the train was late and your phone died.

As your breathing becomes more normal again.

I’m glad you’re okay and now we can leave for I’m tired of waiting and would like to get out the cold.

But, the truth is I’d wait for you no matter how long or what kind of weather I have to face.

Just to end up seeing you smiling and your arms wrapped around me.
